burrito blankies

Pin It Follow Me on Pinterest I made some receiving blankets this weekend!  Using the same method you'd use to make reversible napkins, cut two squares of fabric.  One measuring 34 inches and the other 36 inches.  I chose some cute quilters flannel for the smaller square and some great prints for the larger squares.  Lay the large square down wrong side facing up.  Center the smaller square of flannel right side up and pin all the way around.  Double fold the overhanging inch all the way around while pressing, and miter corners.  Pin like a mad woman and topstitch the binding all the way  around.  A cozy flannel lined burrito blankie for winter babies everywhere.

some new fabric!

Today was a bit too blustery for playing outside.  We made a fort with all the dining room chairs and watched a movie.  Then off to the fabric store.  It's still a fun outing for the girls, so there was much excitement.  I always let them pick a fat quarter which is interesting... it's fun to see just how different they are.  I ran across Kate Spain's Central Park and had to share.
Cruising the internet after the find, I was excited to read a bit off her blog. Makes me want to sew another pillow.  So while the fabric is in the wash, I'll be thinking about that.
Check out the flickr pics of projects using Central Park!  Amazing and inspiring.
